Both luminaire manufacturers present their products together for the first time at Light+Building 2024 // New: innovative HCL+ technology (HEAVN inside)

From 3 to 8 March 2024, more than 2,000 exhibitors will be presenting their innovations in lighting and building technology at Light+Building in Frankfurt am Main. Among the exhibitors at this year's world's leading trade fair are the two Munich-based manufacturers KOMOT and HEAVN, who have entered into a partnership. At their joint stand in Hall 3.1, they will be presenting their products and the innovative HCL+ (HEAVN inside) technology, an automatic daylight control system, for the first time. This HCL+ technology developed by HEAVN will initially be available exclusively in KOMOT and HEAVN luminaires.
KOMOT x HEAVN: Cooperation based on many years of collaboration
KOMOT and HEAVN are among the most innovative luminaire manufacturers in Germany. KOMOT has been inspiring design enthusiasts worldwide for years with its multi-award-winning KOS pendant luminaire and its special height adjustment. Meanwhile, HEAVN has made a name for itself far beyond Germany's borders with its advanced and particularly effective HEAVN One daylight luminaires and the height-adjustable HEAVN Pure pendant luminaire.
At this year's Light+Building, the two Munich-based companies are jointly presenting their products with the HCL technology HCL+ (HEAVN inside) developed by HEAVN for the first time. Based on the latest research findings, the daylight control system automatically adjusts the colour temperature, intensity and direction of the light to the natural course of the sun. The result: improved concentration and performance, more vitality and a noticeable sense of well-being - both at home and in the office.
"There has been a lively dialogue between KOMOT and HEAVN for years. We were so impressed by HEAVN's automated daylight control system that we decided to offer this highly developed HCL technology in our designer luminaires and present it for the first time at Light+Building. It is controlled without a mobile phone, without an app, just by gestures - simple and stress-free, but with great effect," says Konrad Weinhuber, founder and industrial designer at KOMOT.
"I've always been fascinated by the biological effect of light. Many suppliers are currently jumping on the HCL trend. But there are big differences - especially in the light effect. Our light arrives exactly where it is needed - directly in the eye. During the day with a natural light intensity, which has a high biological effect of up to 10,000 lux, in the evening of course with a low intensity. Because the right light at the right time is very important for our overall well-being. We feel better, we work better, we sleep better," says HEAVN founder and Managing Director David von große Austing. "Years ago, we worked together with KOMOT on joint luminaire designs. Now the time was ripe for us to work together as partners and make our innovative HEAVN technology available for KOMOT luminaires too.“
Light in its most beautiful form - the KOS luminaire system from KOMOT
An integral part of the KOMOT luminaire system is the special height adjustment system developed by Konrad Weinhuber, which has won several awards. The company's central product is the KOS pendant luminaire: a hand-blown opal glass sphere on a filigree textile cable whose light colour and intensity can be controlled by gestures. The sophisticated guidance of the light makes the opal glass sphere appear in a delicate white colour. Its delicate shape is emphasised by the precisely controlled light - and not dissolved into brightness as is often the case with spherical luminaires.
The KOS CONNECT module is a new addition to KOMOT and the KOS luminaires. Depending on the option selected, KOS CONNECT enables automatic daylight control with HCL+ (HEAVN inside), connectivity to various smart lighting control systems (Casambi, KNX and other apps) or a combination of both options. Control without a mobile phone is only available from KOMOT. The good thing about this is that the familiar gesture control is retained with all variants. The CONNECT module is discreetly housed in the end cap of the KOS track.
The KOS is available in sizes S and L with the same range of functions. In addition to the ceiling track mentioned above, a canopy and a turntable with track are available for suspending the pendant luminaires. The colours of the cables and suspensions can be individually configured.
The daylight from HEAVN luminaires has a positive effect on the human biorhythm
HEAVN focuses on its innovative lighting concept for the office, home office and at home. Thanks to modern HCL technology, the HEAVN One daylight luminaire mimics the course of the sun during the day and therefore has a noticeably positive effect on our biorhythm. The luminaire is one of the brightest desk luminaires in the world. HEAVN developed and produced the intelligent lighting concept in cooperation with leading sleep researchers at the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich and in collaboration with the Technical University of Munich. The light frequencies used support a healthy biorhythm in harmony with the "inner clock" and promote not only a healthier lifestyle, but also well-being and productivity.
In contrast to conventional desk lamps, the HEAVN One can also be used like a softbox. This creates a natural illumination of the facial area and shows the user at their best during video conferences.
In addition to the HEAVN One daylight luminaire, HEAVN's portfolio also includes the height-adjustable HEAVN Pure Suspension pendant luminaire, which uses modern HCL technology and gesture control to provide the right light at the right height in any office or living space - for concentrated work, relaxed reading or socialising.
The HEAVN One luminaire is available in a basic version and a Plus version with additional functions, in the colours black and silver. The height-adjustable HEAVN Pure Suspension pendant luminaire is available in lengths of 100 and 140 cm, in the colours black and silver. The height adjustment can be customised and preselected for different room heights.
